Tunisia: IDB to fund power station in Sousse

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will finance the power plant of Sousse with investments of around 300 million dinars, said Riadh Bettaieb, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation at the periodic meeting of the communication cell, held Friday, August 10, 2012, at the seat of the Prime Ministry.

The Saudi Fund for Development and the OPEC Fund for International Development will contribute, in turn, with 193 million dinars and 75 million dinars, respectively.

For its part, the Saudi Board of Directors for Development had examined, last July 10, a contribution to two other projects, namely a project for extending the network for the transfer of natural gas in several regions including those of inland. Investments set for this project amount to approximately 136 MTD.

The second project provides for the development of the structure of training in Tunisia. The total amount is approximately $ 25.5 MTD.

The Saudi Fund also allocated $ 250 million to develop and encourage the Saudi exports to Tunisia.
