Tunisia: investment in projects of over 5 MTD down 9.8%

Investments in projects whose cost is higher than 5 million Tunisian dinars posted a decrease of 9.8% from 962.8 MTD in the first half of 2011 to 868.7 MD in the first half of 2012, indicates the Industry Promotion Agency (API) letter for the month of July.

The number of projects went down from 67 to 64 in the first half of 2012. They helped create 6,462 jobs, against 11,218 job positions in the first half of 2011, down 42.4%.

It should be noted that projects worth over 5 MTD and more, which account for only 2.8% of projects reported and 16.7% of the number of jobs, total 49.6% of all investments reported.
